Leto denies 30STM axed management, 14.10.2009

Posted on 17 Oct 2009 by Merovinger

A spokesperson for Jared Leto's band 30 Seconds To Mars has rejected rumours that the star has fired their management.

Reports yesterday suggested that Leto had axed the group's employers ahead of the release of their new album.

However, the band's representative has since branded the speculation "completely false".

They quoted Leto as saying: "As far as I'm concerned I have the best manager on the entire planet, the legendary Irving Azoff. We have been working together for three years and are having a blast. Together we have happily burned out many a blackberry keypad and even shut down a few servers. We [are] looking forward to celebrating the release of This Is War on December 8."

Azoff added: "We've only just begun to make 30 Seconds To Mars the icons they will inevitably become."

30 Seconds To Mars' third studio album This Is War is scheduled for release on December 7.

Jared Leto fires management, supports gay marriage, 14.10.2009

Posted on 16 Oct 2009 by Merovinger

Jared Leto has reportedly parted ways with his management team just one month before his new record with his band 30 Seconds To Mars is due to be released.

Jared Leto has reportedly fired his management team. The singer-and-actor has reportedly parted ways with advisors just one month before his band 30 Seconds To Mars are due to release new album 'This Is War'. A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Jared is too controlling. This latest move just feels like self-sabotage. It's very strange timing as his management team was very good. His tour manager has now left too. No one can quite believe what's happening."

Record company bosses have refused to be drawn on the reports. A representative said: "I have heard rumours of the guys parting company but nothing has been confirmed."

The 37-year-old star is notoriously precious about his music career, and refuses to discuss films he has been in when promoting his records.

Meanwhile, Jared has spoken out in support of gay rights group FAIR. The organisation has persuaded a number of celebrities to autograph copies of a poster supporting gay marriage, which are to be auctioned online.

Jared, 37, decided to make his poster a little different to the rest, by writing the words of the Proposition 8 ballot - which was passed in California in 2008, and outlaws gay marriage - on it and then setting in alight. He then placed the ashes in a jar, writing on: "Here lies within, the remains of Proposition 8, may it rest in peace."

New interview with Jared Leto about Mr. Nobody at cinemagia.ro, 14.09.2009

Posted on 27 Sep 2009 by Merovinger

The main actor from “Mr. Nobody”, an awarded film at Venice Film Festival for its scenography , Jared Leto interprets the role of Nemo Nobody, a man who’s life takes off in three different directions after he refuses in his childhood to take a hard decision. A slalom through different time periods (one part of the movie takes place in 2092) and through different possible lives, Mr. Nobody is one of the most captivating films that were presented this year at the festival from the lagoon and it would have deserved a more important trophy than the award for scenography. Directed by the Belgian Jaco van Dormael, Mr. Nobody casts Leto, Diane Kruger and Sarah Polley and will be released in Romania on the 28th of May 2010.
Shortly, Mr. Nobody is about Nemo, a seven year old boy who realizes he is confronted with the most difficult decision of his life. He is on the platform of a train station and has to choose between remaining with his father and getting on the train with his mother. The choice will change his life from its foundations and the perspective is so frightening that the kid refuses to make it. At his old age, in 2092, when he is the only mortal human being after the technological advances assure eternal life for the entire society, Nemo Nobody reviews the three lives that he could have had.

Maybe you haven’t seen Jared Leto in the TV-Show “My So-Called Life”, where he played along with Claire Danes, but you surely remember him from the powerful “Requiem for a Dream”, Darren Aronofsky’s second feature film. After this critically-acclaimed success, Leto was to be seen in Alexander, Panic Room, Lord of War and, last but not least, Chapter 27, for the role of John Lennon’s killer, Mark David Chapman, for which he had to gain no less than 30 kilograms.
Returning to his normal weight, the slender actor and vocalist of the band 30 Seconds To Mars talked to Cinemagia for 20 minutes about his new movie, Mr. Nobody. Read more...
